Nichole Barnes Marshall has built a remarkable career in HR and diversity and inclusion leadership.  She currently serves as the chief diversity officer for L Brands, a world-renowned retailer of iconic brands specializing in lingerie, personal care and beauty products, apparel and accessories. She leads the development and implementation of inclusion and diversity strategies for L Brands’ 88,000 associates worldwide.  

Before joining L Brands, Nichole was global head of diversity and Inclusion for Aon plc, where she established a framework of policy and practices that advanced Aon’s recognition as a top company for diversity and inclusion. She was also the senior manager of inclusion and diversity for W.W. Grainger, Inc., where she led the successful execution of Grainger’s inclusion and diversity strategies in the areas of culture and workforce diversity.  She also served in HR leadership roles at Tribune Company and IBM Global Services.  

Nichole has played a leadership role in several important civic and professional organizations, including Columbus Urban League, United Way of Central Ohio, Leadership Columbus,  and the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).

Nichole is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology.
