Cathy McEvilly is the senior vice president and general counsel of Honda North America, Inc. (HNA).  She also serves as Honda's compliance officer in North America, as a member of the HNA Company Operating Committee; co-chair of the North American Diversity Steering Committee; and secretary of Honda Patents & Technologies North America, LLC.

McEvilly joined Honda in October 1994.  During her career in the HNA’s law division, she supported the activities of nearly every division of the company and has personally handled a wide range of matters in areas that include dealer relations, antitrust issues, employment, and compliance and corporate governance issues.

In 2018, McEvilly was appointed to a three-year term on the board of trustees of the National Urban League. She is the first Honda associate to serve on the national board.

McEvilly also is a past board member of the Eagle Rock School & Professional Development Center, a school established by American Honda near Estes Park, Colorado, for high school students who are not thriving in their current situations, yet who remain interested in taking control of their lives and learning.

McEvilly holds a J.D. from the Loyola School of Law in Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA.
